Meta Awesome!

So I spent this morning in the meta verse on my Oculus Quest 2 VR (https://amzn.to/3EDenoT), which I will say was quite enjoyable. I went to an event in the Horizon World app by META aka FB featuring their CEO Mark Zuckerburg. In summary, it went over the new things to look forward in the next few years. One for instance is the avatars will be getting legs! So that’s exciting. I’m not very versed in the meta universe yet but I find it to be very interesting so far. I was able to talk to other people involved in the building of the social worlds, artists, and other cool people that have found community and purpose in virtual reality. I think it’s cool how many of us are trying to usher in a new future in technology. I can only imagine the things we will create next! It’s like playing 3D Sims. I love Sims. But moving on…

The way that the event was set up was a group of people would all spawn onto a server (there were many servers) or rooms to hold a certain capacity. You were able to network around, explore, and go into the different rooms where you could view the presentation via a theater. It’s an immersive experience. That’s what’s so neat about it. It makes you feel as if you had left your home and the destinations are literally endless. They are releasing a new oculus called the PRO which is $1500 and if you have a lot of business in the VR, I can see that as being something useful. My costar did such a great job building the world from scratch! So follow to check back in for that.
