Ex-Steam Detoxification

Digital Art by C Money

So recently I’ve been exploring with ways to detox my body. I feel like pregnancy definitely has had its impact on my body, energy, and lymphatic system. I was sick a lot of my pregnancy. Than that C-section recovery. Man. They really don’t tell you how traumatic that really is on your body. For Christmas this year I received a portable steam room. GAME CHANGER!!! I always loved to go into the steam rooms in the gym so having one at my own convenience has been really awesome. What I like about the one I got was that it came with an herbal box that allows you to put essential oils (link below) and herbs in it. I bought this aromatherapy book and it gave me some great recipes for the different oils that have benefits to them. Nothing like waking up to a nice lemon ginger steam! I have nothing but great things to say about this. I can’t vouch for the longevity of the product but it really wasn’t that expensive so well worth it so far!!!

Steam therapy is said to help clear out your nasal passages, help clear out your pores aka improve skin condition, improve your metabolism, lower blood pressure, relaxation, increase circulation, joint stiffness and a good workout recovery. You have to take care to keep hydrated of course because you will be in there sweating like crazy. If you are feeling hot and uncomfortable, just get out. You don’t want to over-do it. I have been doing this for about 3 weeks now, not every day but at least every other day. I will say I have definitely noticed an improvement in my skin. I feel less bloated since I’ve been sweating out the water weight. I usually can bloat pretty bad around some times of the month so I feel this has alleviated some of that. I do feel like I have more energy. I have been experimenting with using it either at night or the mornings. I usually use my time in there to put on some music (528 hz), work on my breathing and meditate. So I’m pretty relaxed and tend to prefer that night time steam in my bedtime routine. I’ve also been exploring different combinations of both the oils and herbs. I’m going to keep this in my routine for now. I will try to remember to update you guys on how it’s coming along!
