X-Games: Austin 2015

Randomly I went to the X-Games when they were in Austin. I had never been and didn’t even know they were in Austin so this was actually pretty cool! For all 3-days it was only $109 dollars to go check out some awesome athletes who are doing some pretty cool things, so all in all, totally worth it. For those of you who don’t know what the x-games are it is basically like the Olympics for extreme sports such as skateboarding or motocross.

I would have to say that my favorite competition I watched was the skateboard big air competition. This involved the Big Air ramp which they would go down from the height of about 70 feet and cross a gap that spanned about 40 feet to the other side where they went up the other side 30 feet into the air 15-20+ feet. The ramp itself looked like something out of an amusement park. The youngest competitor had just turned 15.

Wow. I don’t know if I’d have the gumption to even attempt something that wild and I’ve been both bungee jumping and skydiving. So not only are they going down this behemoth, they are also doing tricks. Absolutely mind-blowing! After watching that, I’m not going to lie, I kind of want to go buy a skateboard now. That was just really cool. So you guys should definitely check that out, maybe next year you might want to attend yourselves. Opening the events this year was Nicki Minaj so I got to see some really cool athletes and attend a concert. What gets better than that?
